What makes up a window?

There are just four parts— but such important parts, because the windows and door you choose will affect the appearance, temperature, light, space, airflow and the security of your home.

Frame Technology
Consider the frame
Depending on your project there are the following choices:
• The Elite standard residential frame provides a great value choice.
• The 70mm suite has been designed for the larger project or a conservatory where more substantial joinery would look appropriate. The substantial frame can deal successfully with oversize windows and doors
• Timberview timber / aluminium offers an elegant internal look and an ability to optimise its energy saving potential with double glazing. The internal timber profiles are warm cedar timber and the external aluminium is low maintenance.

Next consider the opening style of each window or door, is space saving required or is a large opening for outdoor living a lifestyle necessity. Should Le Vent should be installed for passive ventilation.

Finally there is the shape of the window, to add the dramatic touch, windows can curve or arch, they can be facetted, louvred or decorated with colonial or federation bars.

Colour Technology
The colour choices are numerous. The most popular colours are the most cost effective. When choosing a colour for joinery it generally either contrasts or complements the house cladding.. Remember the colour affects both the inside and outside of the house.

Glass Technology
There are so many ways to be smart with glass. Differing glass types can:
• reduce condensation
• lower heating and cooling costs
• prevent soft furnishings fading
• reduce irritating noise
• work as safety glass
• self cleansing glass

Hardware Technology
There is a range of security options, security mesh doors, security locks, stays, bolts, and restrictors. All of them serve one purpose “ peace of mind”.

Black is the standard hardware colour for aluminium joinery, but an often preferred option is to colour match hardware to the powdercoated frame.
